FRAMING & HANGING CRITERIA
for all Art Lending of Ottawa events
PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS, PRINTMAKING:
All work on paper must be securely framed and under clean glass.
Work on canvas board, or thin wood panel, must be securely framed.
Unframed work on canvas, or wood panel, must be Gallery (1½”) or Standard (¾”) depth, and must have finished edges, with no visible nails or staples.
All work must be “ready to hang” with a wire affixed to the back, approximately one-third of the way down from the top. D-hooks or eye-hooks are recommended to secure the wire to the frame. Wire ends, where twisted, must be wrapped with masking tape to avoid bodily injuries and damage to walls.
A label must be securely attached to the backside of each work, clearly noting the artist’s name, title of the work, medium, and value.
Caution: Works will be handled by different individuals. Please ensure that your work is as damage-proof as possible.
